Letter from the Board

Dear Member(s),

The Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) is excited about your membership and the opportunity for our community to work together to change the trajectory of the lives’ of recovering students. Your commitment to the ARHE is an opportunity to contribute to the quality of life for those in recovery from addiction.

This past year we have seen a tremendous increase in the number of institutions and organizations committed to raising awareness and supporting those in recovery in higher education. We have seen national growth in student-lead organizations, the impact of alumni leadership and effective change on a local, state and national level.

As collegiate recovery continues to grow and emerge, the field of addiction and recovery in higher education is growing alongside the individual careers of those men and women who are returning back to higher education to pursue careers in the recovery field. It is happening as predicted; our human resources, our students in recovery, are graduating and impacting the world by sharing their experience, strength and hope.  We are seeing tangible results in this work on so many levels.  We see this year after year at our National Collegiate Recovery Conference.  The conference is like coming home to a family that shares a common goal tied together in the work we do on a daily basis.

Each of you matters here.  Your membership, your collective thoughts, ideas, and leadership are the fuel on which this association runs and will continue to run. We can’t imagine a better way to join others nationally then being a part of this association.

We stand committed to supporting you and working alongside you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions, concerns, suggestions, and ideas.

Sincerely,

Association of Recovery in Higher Education Board
