Hello, my name is Hilda Quansah, and I am a first-generation Ghanaian American and student. I will be serving as the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) Graduate Student Representative. I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work in May 2025 from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). I am currently in the process of obtaining my Master of Social Work with a clinical specialization and a school social work certificate, and a Fast-track Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) certificate from VCU as well. I am currently a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) and a Qualified Mental Health Professional- Trainee (QMHP-T). 

I am a person in long-term recovery, and my primary pathway is Marijuana Anonymous (MA). I started my recovery journey in Richmond, Virginia, with Rams in Recovery. Through this collegiate recovery program, I have made life-long connections and a strong support network. My life’s mission is to continue to end the stigma surrounding addiction and to let people know they, too, can recover. In my free time, I love to read, write, crochet, go on adventures with friends and family, and watch movies and TV shows.
