Board of Directors and Regional Representatives

Bryce Massey is a person in recovery and a current junior concentrating in linguistics at Brown University. He serves as a student ambassador to Brown’s Donovan Program for Recovery and Substance-Free Student Initiatives, an appointed member of the Collegiate Recovery Leadership Academy (CRLA), a member of the ARHE Board, and a member of the RICARES Recovery Advocacy Workgroup. In his role as student ambassador, Bryce connects students to recovery resources both on and off campus and serves as a liaison between students and program administration. As part of his CRLA impact project, he facilitates a weekly peer-to-peer group where students practice recovery principles of honesty, open-mindedness, and vulnerability through a socially modeled, preventative approach to addiction. He has also worked as a case manager for a young men’s sober residence during a medical leave from the university. 

Bryce’s mission primarily centers on challenging narratives of addiction as moral failure and emphasizing the role of non-clinical, community-based interventions in recovery. He aspires to work in spaces that support healing and empowerment, including speech-language pathology, recovery services, and community-based initiatives. In his free time, Bryce enjoys spending time with animals, gardening, and practicing yoga.
