What have you enjoyed about your ARHE fellowship so far?

This internship is unlike any I’ve done before. I like that it pushes me outside my comfort zone while simultaneously giving me a support network made up of other ARHE employees/fellows.

What are you hoping to work on for ARHE or the collegiate recovery field?

I’m hoping to improve ARHE’s student engagement and potentially streamline a way to receive feedback and ideas from members and CRPs.

Are there changes you would like to see in the collegiate recovery field overall?

I would like to see collegiate recovery have a more inclusive environment overall. Personally, I find it hard to open up to a new group of people. This is occasionally exacerbated since I am a queer, hard of hearing, Jewish individual in eating disorder recovery rather than a “traditional” addiction disorder.

Do you have any words of advice for students in recovery?

If you are someone like me, who feels different or maybe just a little off, you’re not. Everyone in recovery has a unique story that likely makes them feel a little different too. The important thing to remember is the commonality we all share in that we are all working towards complete recovery.
