The Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) concluded its search for its second full-time position by hiring Caroline Beidler at the end of September.

Caroline attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned both her bachelor’s degree in English and her Master’s degree in Social Work. While studying for her MSW, Caroline helped found the Collegiate Recovery Community on campus at UW-Madison, now Badger Recovery. She also founded a collegiate recovery residence for women, along with volunteered as a youth mentor at Connections Counseling working with students at a local recovery high school and in a college group.

Along with her work with emerging adults in recovery, Caroline has also worked as the past Director of Wisconsin Voices for Recovery, a statewide Recovery Community Organization, along with was a past founder and Director of ED2Recovery, a nationally recognized program that brings Recovery Coaching into community-based settings. Through her management and administration, training, and capacity-building efforts, Caroline aims to create innovative models that empower communities and people in or seeking recovery. She lives in Tennessee with her family and in her free time loves to write books and support local recovery efforts.

“I am thrilled to have Caroline as part of our team,” said Kristina Canfield, ARHE Executive Director. “There was a very strong candidate pool and filling this position was not an easy decision. Our field is full of so much talent! Caroline brings a strong set of skills and experience into this position and I am excited to watch our growth over the coming years with her as a part of ARHE.”

The Membership & Outreach Manager has lead responsibility for membership growth and certain services that are field-facing: different offerings that intersect directly with the collegiate recovery field. Examples include working internally with our Advisory Council, overseeing all aspects of ARHE Membership (benefits, engagement, support, etc.), and general communications with our collegiate recovery stakeholders throughout the country and across the globe.

Caroline will officially begin her position on Monday, October 10th. She can be reached at caroline.beidler@collegiaterecovery.org
