Learn about what collegiate recovery programs are and why they are important. In this session, ARHE staff will briefly outline the history of collegiate recovery, as well as the research and evidence base supporting them. They will then outline examples of how programs get started, expansion models across states and systems, and some of the resources that are available to support new programs.
This programming was made possible by The Center for Addiction Recovery Support (CARS). The Center for Addiction Recovery Support (CARS) is a national initiative dedicated to strengthening recovery ecosystems by providing technical assistance, training, and innovative resources to support individuals in recovery.
As a strategic partner organization, the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) collaborates with CARS to expand technical assistance, best practices, and institutional guidance for collegiate recovery programs (CRPs). This partnership ensures that higher education institutions receive the tools and expertise needed to build, sustain, and grow recovery-supportive environments on their campuses.
