Naming a system that increases access to academics and workforce development, supports the local community, its residents, and its economy, while striving for academic excellence can describe both community colleges and collegiate recovery. The community college was designed to be an open-enrollment, accessible institution which grew productivity neighborhood by neighborhood, while providing direct service to the “public good” as specifically defined by an individual community’s needs. Today’s discussion will consider how to leverage this information to gain partnerships with, and support from, with institutional stakeholders – a conversation facilitated by Eric Klein, PhD Candidate.

Staff Chats take place on Tuesdays at 12pm ET and explore new topics each week!

This programming was made possible by the Center for Addiction Recovery Support (CARS), a national SAMHSA-funded initiative dedicated to advancing recovery support nationwide. CARS provides training, technical assistance, and innovative resources for individuals, organizations, and institutions supporting recovery.

As a partner organization, the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) partners with CARS to expand technical assistance, best practices, and institutional guidance for collegiate recovery programs (CRPs). Together, we are equipping higher education institutions with the tools and expertise needed to build, sustain, and grow recovery-supportive environments on their campuses.
