Alexi “Lex” Johnson LPC serves as one of the professional staff of the RSVP (Rape and Sexual Violence Prevention) at The University of Georgia. RSVP provides specialty counseling, robust wrap-around supports, and advocacy for primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence. RSVP counseling often addresses substance use, working closely with their institution’s CRP and AOD Prevention providers. This talk will provide information on the overall work of their initiative and the importance of addressing the overlap survivors experience in healing/coping while also investigating their relationship with substance use.

Staff Chats take place on Tuesdays at 12pm ET and explore new topics each week!

This programming was made possible by the Center for Addiction Recovery Support (CARS), a national SAMHSA-funded initiative dedicated to advancing recovery support nationwide. CARS provides training, technical assistance, and innovative resources for individuals, organizations, and institutions supporting recovery.

As a partner organization, the Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) partners with CARS to expand technical assistance, best practices, and institutional guidance for collegiate recovery programs (CRPs). Together, we are equipping higher education institutions with the tools and expertise needed to build, sustain, and grow recovery-supportive environments on their campuses.
