Tuesday: Empowering Collective Growth – Education, Advocacy & Awareness

Today’s theme is “Celebrating the Forest Through the Trees”

Recognizing the big picture of collegiate recovery while appreciating the individual efforts and contributions that sustain and grow recovery communities.

“Celebrating the forest through the trees” means appreciating the big picture of collegiate recovery while recognizing the individual efforts that contribute to its success. Each student, professional, and ally plays a crucial role in growing and sustaining recovery communities on campus. This day focuses on recognizing personal journeys, community achievements, and the interconnectedness of collegiate recovery efforts.

Growth doesn’t happen in isolation – we recover together.

Today is about celebrating the collegiate recovery movement, as well as the tools that make it sustainable – creating dedicated space and support for students on campus. For 48 years, Collegiate Recovery Programs have fought stigma by promoting evidence-based strategies, amplifying student voices, and integrating recovery into campus life, and for the past 15 years, we’ve seen tremendous growth of these programs, unified through a network that is larger than any one program.

We recognize the importance of continuing to normalize conversations about recovery and mental health on campus. Students in recovery deserve access to education, and campuses deserve students thriving in their full potential.

💜 How to Get Involved Today:

  • Wear purple to raise awareness and show support of collegiate recovery. Post the photo on socials with the #wearpurple hashtag and tag ARHE @collegiaterecovery!
  • Sign up for the Collegiate Recovery 101 training course to learn more about our history and gain valuable skills to support your professional development.

Let’s fuel the movement with knowledge and compassion.

THANK YOU for your Service: Outgoing Board Members

As we welcome new board members, it is always bittersweet as others roll off and transition out of their positions. We want to acknowledge the years of dedication that Dr. CJ, Kathleen Gibson, Paula Harrington, and Taylor Moran have given to the board. We are extremely grateful for the time, energy, generosity, and overall enthusiasm that these board members have brought.

Institutions with 10+ Years of ARHE Membership

And – while we are recognizing accomplishments – we wanted to provide a shoutout to the list of institutions with 10+ years of ARHE membership. ARHE would not exist if it were not for the member institutions that we serve – and over the years, these schools have shown incredible dedication to students in recovery. Starting and sustaining a collegiate recovery program on campus is not easy – but these institutions are paving the way for countless others to follow!
