Catch the replay of this week’s webinar: ARHE Webinar: Spotlight on the University of Alabama at Birmingham

Presented by Kristina Canfield, this webinar provides an overview of the Collegiate Recovery Community at UAB.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has been recognized as a 2018 Diversity Champion by Insight Into Diversity Magazine and ranked as the #1 Young University two consecutive years by Times Higher Education.

The Collegiate Recovery Community at UAB was formed back in 2015 and is under the umbrella of Student Health and Wellness. They are currently transitioning from Wellness Promotion to Student Counseling Services with the goal of being an independent department in the future. The CRC offers non-clinical support but has a solid partnership with Student Counseling and the Addiction Recovery Program in the UAB Center for Psychiatric Medicine. The space is open 24/7 to students and offers meditation room, lounge area, meeting room, and kitchen.

During a graduate survey conducted in the CRC, 100% agreed that the CRC had some impact on them graduating when planned and 100% plan to continue their education with an advanced degree.

The ARHE Website is currently undergoing updates. While we anticipate minimal disruption, please email mack@collegiaterecovery.org if you experience any issues with the website and we apologize for any inconvenience.
