About the Program

Recovery at Marquette was started in Spring 2024, with collegiate recovery efforts on campus dating back prior to the pandemic. The Marquette Collegiate Recovery Program officially launched in January 2025. The program and other initiatives are housed administratively within the Counseling Center, which is a part of Wellness along with the Medical Clinic, Campus Recreation, and Student Wellness. All services are located in the Wellness + Recreation facility, where Recovery at Marquette has its own lounge and meeting room.
The recovery efforts are supported by one part-time manager, a counselor, and two program assistants from the CRP. It is a mid-size institution of about 11,000 students, and the CRP has approximately 7 members. Students in recovery have access to recovery coaching, programming in the lounge, various on-campus recovery meetings, and other recovery-protective programming both on and off campus. Most offerings are open to any student in recovery, not just CRP members.

Become a member of arhe!

The Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) is the only association exclusively representing collegiate recovery programs (CRPs) and collegiate recovery communities (CRCs), the faculty and staff who support them, and the students who represent them. ARHE provides the education, resources, and community connection needed to help change the trajectory of recovering student’s lives. We are a network of professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents and policy makers.

A Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is a college or university-provided program that includes a supportive environment within the campus culture. CRPs reinforce the decision to engage in a lifestyle of recovery from addiction/substance use disorder. It is designed to provide an educational opportunity alongside recovery supports to ensure that students do not have to sacrifice one for the other.

The ARHE website is under construction as we launch a new membership portal. Please inform [email protected] if you experience technical difficulties or need support.
