About the Program

IUPUI COLLEGIATE RECOVERY COMMUNITY

The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) at IUPUI began on October 9, 2014 as the first college or university addiction recovery program in Indiana. The program, which started as a student organization, is now comprised of a suite of services from the Office of Health and Wellness Promotion in the Division of Student Affairs.

The CRC creates a supportive community that promotes academic success, retention, and adherence to addiction recovery goals through a combination of direct services, social support, and referrals. Programs include weekly on-campus support meetings, free appointments with a professional recovery coach, free sober social outings, reserved study table space, a student phone list and member messaging app, and volunteer opportunities for recruitment and stigma reduction campaigns.

ARHE provides the education, resources, and community connection needed to help change the trajectory of recovering student’s lives. We are a network of professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents and policy makers.

COLLEGIATE RECOVERY PROGRAM

A Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is a college or university-provided program that includes a supportive environment within the campus culture. CRPs reinforce the decision to engage in a lifestyle of recovery from addiction/substance use disorder. It is designed to provide an educational opportunity alongside recovery supports to ensure that students do not have to sacrifice one for the other.
