BAYLOR RECOVERY PROGRAM
The Baylor Recovery Program was founded in conjunction with the Wellness Department and the Counseling Center which both serve the Baylor campus in the Division of Student Life. In March of 2011 the recovery effort was started with the hiring of a full-time director as the Addictive Behavior Specialist. The program has recently been expanded with the addition of a part-time Program Coordinator. Offices and meeting space, as well as open group space are housed together within the Wellness Department. The program is currently small (1-14 students) with an eye towards growing to meet untapped campus need. The program facilitates men in recovery, women in recovery, and young people in recovery groups each week. Students also meet with the director and/or coordinator on a regular basis throughout the semester, as well as participate in service events and socials including monthly “socially sober” lunches. Participation in recovery groups is open to any student contemplating recovery on campus. We are members of the Association of Recovery in Higher Education.
