About the Program

The Baylor Recovery Program was founded in conjunction with the Wellness Department and the Counseling Center which both serve the Baylor campus in the Division of Student Life. We currently have a dedicated full time staff to recovery that oversees a dedicated space, the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center (the BARC), which opened in the fall of 2017 in the center of East Village. The BARC holds offices, a joint classroom/meeting space, a kitchen, library nook, and bathroom. The space is open 24 hours for trusted students in recovery and our allies community. The program currently serves around 40 students including undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Students also have the opportunity to meet with recovery coaches or faculty/staff advocates. Students participate in social events including group travel to conferences. Meetings include 12-step, faith based, meditation, and process addiction specific group. Participation in recovery groups is open to any student contemplating recovery on campus.
