About the Program
IUPUI COLLEGIATE RECOVERY COMMUNITY
The Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) at IU – Indianapolis began on October 9, 2014 as the first college or university addiction recovery program in Indiana. The program, which started as a student organization, is now comprised of a suite of services from the Office of Health and Wellness Promotion in the Division of Student Affairs.
The CRC creates a supportive community that promotes academic success, retention, and adherence to addiction recovery goals through a combination of direct services, social support, and referrals. Programs include weekly on-campus support meetings, free appointments with a professional recovery coach, recovery scholarship opportunities, reserved study table space, a student phone list and member messaging app, and volunteer opportunities for recruitment and stigma reduction campaigns.
