About the Program

The University of Pennsylvania’s SUPER Recovery Program is an initiative started in Fall 2023 through Wellness at Penn. The group has weekly meetings hosted in Wellness at Penn’s Public Health and Wellbeing office located at 3535 Market Street, Mezzanine Suite 50, Room 118. We have one Substance Use Specialist that supports our program. This recovery community would be defined as small but is well supported by the university as it continues to grow. To be part of our program, you just need to be a student identifying as in recovery. We recognize that recovery looks different for everyone, so we have no requirements for complete abstinence. We encourage students to explore our program and see if it is the right fit for them while on their recovery and academic journey. If students want to seek support outside of the University, SUPER’s website https://wellness.upenn.edu/wellbeing-initiatives/super-program-substance-use-prevention-education-and-recovery offers resources for the city of Philadelphia.

Become a member of arhe!

The Association of Recovery in Higher Education (ARHE) is the only association exclusively representing collegiate recovery programs (CRPs) and collegiate recovery communities (CRCs), the faculty and staff who support them, and the students who represent them. ARHE provides the education, resources, and community connection needed to help change the trajectory of recovering student’s lives. We are a network of professionals, administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents and policy makers.

A Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is a college or university-provided program that includes a supportive environment within the campus culture. CRPs reinforce the decision to engage in a lifestyle of recovery from addiction/substance use disorder. It is designed to provide an educational opportunity alongside recovery supports to ensure that students do not have to sacrifice one for the other.

The ARHE website is under construction as we launch a new membership portal. Please inform [email protected] if you experience technical difficulties or need support.
