About the Program

The Ohio State University Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) was founded March of 2013. It is a program of the Student Life Student Wellness Center. The CRC space provides two staff offices in addition to multiple student spaces and is available to students 24/7. The Ohio State CRC currently has a 28-bed residence hall, which is located on campus, for students in recovery to live. There are two paid, full time employees, the Program Manager and the Program Coordinator. The Ohio State CRC is midsized supporting 15-45 students in recovery.  Recovery programming and supports include CRC recovery tracks, individualized recovery plans, recovery support meetings, program orientation, graduation dinner, leadership & professional development, sober social event, and more. We are affiliated with the Student Life Student Wellness Center and the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery. Requirements for membership are filling out the application and submitting two letters of recommendation. We prefer that members have six months of recovery. If an applicant does not meet the recovery requirement, we ask that they submit a letter of exemption. We are looking for students who are ready for success both academically and personally. Newcomers are welcome to participate in most programming and support that we offer except for those limited to official members.
