About the Program

The College of Charleston Collegiate Recovery Program

The College of Charleston Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is part of the Dean of Student’s Office in the Division of Student Affairs. The CRP has a lounge for student members in the Stern Student Center that is utilized for weekly group meetings and as a place to study or relax. We have one full-time Director who began working at The College in November of ’16. There were 14 participants in our abstinence-based program during the spring of ’17. We have weekly recovery meetings in our CRP lounge for members. There are 12-Step meetings on campus and adjacent to campus as well. We also host a weekly open campus meeting that looks to answer the following questions: “What is sobriety? What is recovery? What does it take? Is it for me? How do I support a friend in recovery?” There are social activities for members of the CRP that have including bowling and pot-lucks. To become a member of the CRP, a student must fill out an application and meet with the Director for an interview. For any student interested in the CRP, please contact Wood Marchant, Director of the Collegiate Recovery Program, at 843-953-6630 or at marchantww@cofc.edu.
